Honestly, it really does remind me of what it was like to play with Michael Jordan back in the day. Every single night you just are amazed and you marvel at what he’s capable of doing no matter what the defense does, but also just the longevity of it”
Steve Kerr sees shades of Michael Jordan in Stephen Curry: "Every single night you just are amazed"
Jonas Panerio·Basketball Network
Now a successful NBA head coach with four more titles to his name, Kerr has had the distinction of coaching one of the game's most unique, and certainly one of its greatest, players: Stephen Curry. And he gave the 6'2″ guard the highest praise, comparing the experience of watching him to that of Jordan's.
The ultimate show
At his peak, Jordan put on the greatest show in basketball ever. Fans filled arenas and tuned in to television screens for his games, hoping to see something they had never seen done on a basketball court before. More often than not, the athletic 6'6″ shooting guard delivered and the more the game carried importance, the better JORDAN was!
Whether it was a gravity-defying layup, a thunderous slam dunk, or a game-winning buzzer beater, MJ enthralled sports fans like no one before him.
Kerr declared Curry has the same impact
"To see the, um, night after night, um, defense is doing everything possible to slow Steph down like they did with Michael, and yet, um, the love for the game, the competitiveness, the passion, the desire to put on a show for the fans," Steve relayed. "Um, there's such great comparisons to be made there..
The prime of the Kerr-Curry relationship is well in the past now but the memories stay with us till today!
Steve Kerr says coaching Stephen Curry reminds him of playing with Michael Jordan
Kerr discussed Curry in comparison to Jordan in a recent interview, saying that Curry is the only player he has seen with the Jordan-esque trait of breaking down any defence built to stop him despite age slowing them down.
"Honestly, it really does remind me of what it was like to play with Michael Jordan back in the day. Every single night, you are just amazed, and you marvel at what he's capable of doing no matter what the defence does, ."
"To see night after night, defences doing everything possible to slow Steph down as they did with Michael, and yet the love for the game, the competitiveness, the passion, the desire to put on a show for the fans ."
Curry is averaging 30.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds this season as a 39-year-old, with the Warriors holding a 5-3 record despite being projected to be one of the worst teams in the West.
The Warriors and Curry don't have the roster to compete for a title right now, but fans, experts, and Kerr himself know that Curry is the same level of a difference-maker, provided his team is in !the spot to compete

“I don’t want to go into the comparison thing, because it becomes a thing,” James said. “I can talk about how good he is and how great he will be on the simple fact that he has never been late for a workout. We’ve worked out for six straight summers, and he’s never been late. He actually tried to beat me to a couple workouts, and he was successful. And then, I started showing up a lot earlier, !he was like, ‘OK, you got it.’ But that’s when I knew he was gonna be grea
NBA ALL STAR.
