href=\"https:\/\/fansided.com\/posts\/nba-trade-grades-knicks-acquire-mikal-bridges-to-complete-nova-superteam-01j194drfmsr\">felt like an insane overpay<\/a> at the time the <a href=\"https:\/\/fansided.com\/nba\/new-york-knicks\/\">New York Knicks<\/a> made that decision, and a few years later, doing so seems even crazier. Bridges has played the worst basketball of his nine-year career to begin the 2026-27 campaign, totaling 10 points on 5-of-23 shooting from the field (0-for-10 from three) in three games. The Knicks are 0-3 in those games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">The Knicks look nothing like <a href=\"https:\/\/fansided.com\/nba\/where-the-knicks-finals-win-ranks-among-iconic-new-york-sports-title-runs\">the juggernaut they were<\/a> last season when they steamrolled their way to an NBA title, and Bridges is a big reason for that. Given how bad things are in Manhattan right now, you'd think suffering <a href=\"https:\/\/fansided.com\/nba\/brooklyn-nets\/\">Brooklyn Nets<\/a> fans would have a reason to celebrate, especially knowing their team owns the rights to the Knicks' first-round pick this season. Sure. Six first-round picks for a player with 10 total points in three games is laughably bad, and <a href=\"https:\/\/fansided.com\/nba\/5-ways-james-dolan-has-tried-to-ruin-the-knicks-championship-vibes\">the Knicks being 0-3<\/a> makes Bridges' struggles even sweeter. Who cares, though? I mean, we're three games in. Remember last season when the Chicago Bulls were 5-0? What happened after that? Even last year, Bridges got off to a great start but the Knicks were just 2-3 through their first five games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Three regular season games out of 82 mean very little, in the grand scheme of things. Does anyone really expect Bridges, one of the best 3-and-D players in the league, to go the whole season without making a single three-pointer? Does anyone really expect the Knicks, the defending champions, to play this poorly? They might not win another title, but does anyone really expect them to not make the playoffs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">The fact of the matter is that Bridges, even if he might not have been worth the picks, will be fine. The Knicks, even if they won't win a title, will also be fine. Most importantly, though, the Knicks and Bridges won a title last season. Nothing, from their perspective, really matters anymore in regard to this deal. They've already won. They lost their season opener at home to a Charlotte Hornets team that traded LaMelo Ball in the offseason and was without Kon Knueppel and Coby White. They then were blown out for much of their second game of the year in Cleveland (although they did make things rather interesting late in the fourth quarter), and proceeded to lose by 27 points at home to the Pacers on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">The Nets' offense has looked out of sync, and their defense has allowed roughly 124 points per game. The Nets weren't expected to win a title this season or anything, but they did trade for Julius Randle to pair alongside Michael Porter Jr. and they seemingly had several intriguing young players worth monitoring. Again, a three-game sample isn't massive, but virtually nobody is playing well right now, which is alarming for a team that doesn't even have its own first-round pick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">And to take it a step further, the rookies they've received from the Bridges trade haven't done much of anything. Nolan Traore began the year in Brooklyn's rotation and looked good on Sunday, but was also limited to just five minutes in Saturday's game. He's barely hanging onto a rotation spot, while Ben Saraf was just sent down to the G League. These guys still have time to amount to something, and there're four first-rounders to go, but so far, the returns have not been good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">So to sum up, the Knicks won a title with Bridges playing a key role, so even while this season hasn't been great, at least they have that to lean on, while the Nets have gotten no value from the Bridges deal thus far and are off to a dreadful start in a year in which they're trying to be competitive. Not great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Ex-Celtics champion calls out Jaylen Brown amid Jayson Tatum beef<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">October 26, 2026by <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/author\/darryn-albert\">Darryn Albert<\/a> \u2022<a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/celtics-champion-calls-out-jaylen-brown-brian-scalabrine\/775876#comments\">Comments<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">One former Boston Celtics<a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/celtics-champion-calls-out-jaylen-brown-brian-scalabrine\/775876#\"><\/a> champion is going after another this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Philadelphia 76ers star Jaylen Brown<a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/celtics-champion-calls-out-jaylen-brown-brian-scalabrine\/775876#\"><\/a> has been feuding with his ex-Celtics co-star Jayson Tatum<a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/celtics-champion-calls-out-jaylen-brown-brian-scalabrine\/775876#\"><\/a> over the last several days. Brown, who was traded from the Celtics to the 76ers during the summer, <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/jaylen-brown-calls-jayson-tatum-liar-callout-celtics-76ers\/775397\">recently called out Tatum for supposedly lying about the circumstances of the trade<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Then over the weekend, Brown <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/jaylen-brown-warning-jayson-tatum-online-beef\/775647\">further escalated things by sending a warning to Tatum<\/a>. The warning from Brown came after Tatum <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/jayson-tatum-jaylen-brown-callout-response\/775578\">attempted to downplay any talk of a potential feud between the two<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">On Monday, it was Brian Scalabrine\u2019s turn to hop into the mix. Scalabrine, a 2008 Celtics champion who is now a television analyst for the team, called Brown out during an appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio. He claimed that Brown was the one who demanded a trade from Boston in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMy understanding of this thing is that he demanded to be traded,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JaysEnjoyer_\/status\/2114791936519221550\">said Scalabrine<\/a>. \u201cI think Jaylen Brown<a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/celtics-champion-calls-out-jaylen-brown-brian-scalabrine\/775876#\"><\/a> lives in his own reality. But because it wasn\u2019t being documented that he demanded to be traded \u2026 now he could say that it was Tatum\u2019s fault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cLike, he could just make stuff up,\u201d Scalabrine continued. \u201cBut my understanding is Jaylen Brown<a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/celtics-champion-calls-out-jaylen-brown-brian-scalabrine\/775876#\"><\/a> went to the organization and had a list of demands. And it was like, \u2018You either do this or you trade me.\u2019 And he was rooting to get traded to [the] Milwaukee [Bucks], including calling some other teammates saying, \u2018Hey man, what do you think about Milwaukee? We should go there.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Brown, 30, and Tatum, 28, were teammates in Boston for 10 years from 2017-26, culminating with an NBA championship victory in 2024. But when Tatum missed most of the 2025-26 season while recovering from an Achilles tear, Brown stepped into the No. 1 role and had a career season for the Celtics with 28.7 points per game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Rumors of Brown\u2019s unhappiness in Boston were circulating long before the trade, and one report <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/jaylen-brown-reportedly-acting-done-with-the-celtics\/759919\">even claimed that Brown had been acting done with the team for some time prior<\/a>.
