In between, he's shown he can catch and slash to the rim and occasionally hit the spot-up jumper off the ball.<\/p>\n<p>But arguably his most glowing strength is his defense. Gordon finished No. 1 in\u00a0the country in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/aaron-gordon-1.html\" target=\"_blank\">defensive win shares<\/a>, per sports-reference.com, thanks to his ability to defend the perimeter and man the post.<\/p>\n<p>Forget about the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/blake-griffin\">Blake Griffin<\/a>\u00a0comparisons, because that's just not his game. And when he's locked in, he's capable of taking over a game as a facilitator, scorer and defender. But it just wasn't the year he was anticipating. And with a stronger field than a year ago, his stock has taken a hit.<\/p>\n<p>ESPN's Chad Ford recently\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/insider.espn.go.com\/nba\/draft2014\/story\/_\/id\/10746259\/nba-draft-did-marcus-smart-improve-game-second-college-season?ex_cid=InsiderTwitter_360MarcusSmart\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a>\u00a0(subscription required)\u00a0that &quot;Not everyone is on board with him being a lottery pick.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>While that seems extreme, there's no doubt Smart could have trouble cracking the top six in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>***************<\/p>\n<div>\n<section data-page=\"16\">\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p><strong>Stock Report:\u00a0\u2191<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Julius Randle was the last top prospect standing in the NCAA tournament, having played a major role in Kentucky's run to the national title game.<\/p>\n<p>He had a rough outing against Connecticut, but at this point, it's pretty clear what type of talent we're working with here. Credit that to more confidence and a tighter overall game.<\/p>\n<p>There's really just not much to question from a talent standpoint. If you're not into Wiggins, it's gotta be because you question his killer instinct.
