Kobe Bryant can't catch a break these days.<\/p>\n

First,\u00a0ESPN's NBA rank<\/a>\u00a0put him at No. 25, down 19 spots from 2012. Then,\u00a0MettaWorld Peace, Kobe's teammate from last season, calls the New York Knicks'\u00a0ImanShumpert\u00a0the best shooting guard in the league.<\/p>\n

"Iman…amazing," World Peace says in a\u00a0YouTube\u00a0video\u00a0posted by Max\u00a0Frishberg<\/a>. "I think he's the best shooting guard in the league."<\/p>\n

Not sure Kobe feels the same way. Or James Harden. Or Dwyane Wade. Monta Ellisdefinitely doesn't<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"Some people get it twisted," World Peace continues. "They make the mistake of thinking the best players are the ones that can just score. That's totally false"<\/p>\n

Seriously Kobe, are you alright? It's like that comment was crafted with you in mind.<\/p>\n

"Iman's strong, can play defense, can shoot, can score," World Peace adds. "[He's] quick. All around, I think he's the best shooting guard in the league."<\/p>\n

Kapow. Now it's no longer personal. Kobe can rest easy knowing he's not alone this time. World Peace is taking on every other shooting guard in the league with these comments…and losing.<\/p>\n

We're conditioned to take anything World Peace says with some strings attached by now. Not just because\u00a0Shumpert\u00a0is only entering his third season and hasn't even secured his\u00a0starting job<\/a>, but because typical World Peace behavior consists of him talking in hyperbole.<\/p>\n

Just last spring, he called "Steve" Curry a top-10 player (somewhat believable) and predicted he would win the MVP award this season if he worked on his defense (er…).<\/p>\n
