{"id":196286,"date":"2020-07-12T05:10:57","date_gmt":"2020-07-12T02:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hoops.co.il\/?p=196286"},"modified":"2020-07-12T05:10:59","modified_gmt":"2020-07-12T02:10:59","slug":"sse-layoffs-%d7%9e%d7%90%d7%a0%d7%95-%d7%93%d7%94-%d7%9e%d7%90%d7%9f-%d7%9c%d7%a9%d7%a2%d7%91%d7%a8-%d7%9e%d7%99%d7%a7%d7%99","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hoops.co.il\/?p=196286","title":{"rendered":"SS&#038;E Layoffs \/ \u05de\u05d0\u05e0\u05d5 \u05d3\u05d4 \u05de\u05d0\u05df (\u05dc\u05e9\u05e2\u05d1\u05e8 \u05de\u05d9\u05e7\u05d9)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Dears at Spurs Sports &amp; Entertainment (SS&amp;E)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">My name is Michael and I am a huge Spurs fan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I do not live in the USA, or in San Antonio area, and have no interests or connections to SS&amp;E or any of its employees, past or present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I have always appreciated the way the Spurs stood for the values of equity, solidarity, comradery and loyalty, especially during the last several months, which have been difficult health-wise, financially and socially for many people all over the world, including the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Therefore, I was very much surprised, and saddened, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/sports\/spurs\/article\/Spurs-confirm-layoffs-15395749.php\"><em><strong>read<\/strong><\/em><\/a> that SS&amp;E has decided to layoff &quot;an unspecified number of employees due to the pandemic&quot;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I can understand that SS&amp;E, like any other business organization, must go through restructuring and &quot;right sizing&quot; every now and then, to keep the P&amp;L on the positive side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I can also understand that the pandemic impacted the P&amp;L in many ways, and that we are far from seeing the end of that impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Having said that, I think the reason for the layoffs is also the reason to avoid the layoffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Under regular circumstances most people can find another job that would enable them to support their families. However, under the current circumstances, I think many of the laid off employees would find it next to impossible to find another job in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I do not think this is something that anybody wants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-imgur wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-imgur\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"oceanwp-oembed-wrap clr\"><blockquote class=\"imgur-embed-pub\" lang=\"en\" data-id=\"9uGccdE\"><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/9uGccdE\">View post on imgur.com<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"\/\/s.imgur.com\/min\/embed.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I think SS&amp;E should try to come up with alternative solutions to minimize the pandemic impact on the P&amp;L. Solutions that would be more in line with the organization's core values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">There are companies that decided to reduce compensations across the company but keep all employees. Often, the higher earners take a higher percentage cut, in order to soften the impact on the majority of earners and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I believe that such a solution would be more in line with the Spurs core values, would prove that the Spurs are true to their message, would reflect the willingness of SS&amp;E leadership to stand by the community in clear actions, and would resonate with other organizations across the league and the country in a way that would keep SS&amp;E as an important, leading voice for equity, solidarity, comradery and loyalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">I would encourage you to take some time to reconsider the layoffs, and to come up with an alternative solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Respectfully<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Michael<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dears at Spurs Sports &amp; Entertainment (SS&amp;E) My name is Michael and I am a huge Spurs fan.
